1. Separate the public website from the client environment
We defined what any visitor should be able to access and what content needed to remain restricted to authenticated users in their private area.
Case study
International Advise needed its corporate website to go beyond a contact form. The project added a private client area bringing together communication, documents and information related to ongoing work, while the public side remained focused on presenting the firm's services and the private side supported the continuing client relationship.
The firm needed to present a broad legal, tax and financial service offering while maintaining a different environment for the relationship after a client engaged the business. This was not only a design issue: documents, messages and follow-up should not depend on public navigation or remain scattered across channels without a common reference point.
A WordPress platform was developed with two distinct experiences. The public website organises the firm and its services. The private area gives each client their own space to review information, exchange messages with their adviser and access documents made available within their account. The ongoing relationship therefore does not rely only on email or disconnected external tools.
We defined what any visitor should be able to access and what content needed to remain restricted to authenticated users in their private area.
The corporate side was structured by service area so visitors could identify the type of advice International Advise provides and move towards the right contact route.
A private environment was developed where each client can access only the information and functions associated with their account.
Messaging inside the private area keeps conversations related to ongoing work in the same environment as the client information.
Documents linked to a client can be shared and reviewed within that client's private space instead of being spread across unrelated channels.
Both the public website and private area were adapted for desktop, tablet and mobile use.
Information made available to a client can be reviewed from a private account rather than relying only on separate links and external tools.
Integrated messaging keeps conversations in the same environment where clients review their information.
Files related to each client can remain accessible within their private area, reducing fragmentation across channels.
Separating the public website from the private environment makes it easier to add new functions without turning every future need into a separate tool.
